High Mountain Classics

High Mountain Classics is perhaps the world's foremost restorer of pre-war Bugattis. When I first visited, they were in Berthoud, CO, a town of just over 5,000 residents. They work on all sorts of old exotica, and have moved to bigger digs in Ft. Collins.

British Car Show, Phoenix, 2005

A meeting of various local British car clubs, I don't know if this was a recurring event or not. First time I saw an Elise.

Copperstate 1000

The Copperstate 1000 is one of the premier vintage car road rallies in North America. In 2006 and 2007 I was there to see the cars set off on their journey. The launch is a bit like a Concours de Elegance, except that after the show, you get to see and hear (and smell!) all the cars accelerate away from the venue.

Dinosaur National Monument

There's much more to the park than shown here. Our visit was limited to the Quarry Visitors Center. We'll certainly be back for more.

Carhenge

I'm not sure if Carhenge fits in the "Landscapes" category. But if I'm going to include these pictures in my collection, "Landscapes" is a better fit than "Machines". It's a replica of Stonehenge, but built with old cars instead of stones. I figured it was the most interesting place nearby to view the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017.

Scotts Bluff National Monument

Scotts Bluff is a geographical feature, Scottsbluff is a town. The geographical feature is protected by the Scotts Bluff National Monument. The bluff, rising 800' above the North Platte River, served as an important landmark for pioneers on the Oregon Trail, California Trail, Mormon Trail and Pony Express Trail. Surprisingly, it is not the highest point in Nebraska.
