The Pioneer tuner has some settings for optimising the quality of FM sound - whilst reducing hiss, it can cause the introduction of a quiet click every second or so. Not always noticeable on loud music, it was noticeable on this occasion (so too is a slight amount of hiss).

I used Adobe's Click Removal to eliminate as many of the quiet clicks as I could locate. (ie a few hundred, mostly during Claire's Song and the spoken-word sections).
