Notes/Review |
Quentin Reynold's experiences as a war correspondent in North Africa, Sicily, and the invasion of Italy. A bit jingoistic at times, but that is to be expected of books published during the war. The book has lots of little stories, vignettes, about the common soldiers and sailors he met but the book is mostly about Reynolds. He and his colleagues spent lots of time drinking - "We sat in our hotel room and got bombed, then the Germans bombed the hotel." |
