| Route Description | Follow directions to Mills Lake. From there, continue about 0.6 miles past Glacier Creek campground. Leave the trail here and cross Glacier Creek. Just yards north of Shelf Creek, you should find the unimproved and unofficial trail that rises steeply a thousand feet (305 m) out of Glacier Gorge and to Shelf Lake. To reach Solitude Lake, cross a series of granite slabs, climbing another 200′ (61 m) beside the creek |
