A friend worked as a fishing guide on the Deschutes River for several years. We enjoyed a few days on the river. When I backpack, I carry as little as I can. On this river trip, we had it all: comfortable cots, a cooler full of beer, a gas stove, bacon and eggs for breakfast, and more.
