Much Thanks and best wishes to David Homes!

An amazing find here. An acoustic in-studio set that rivals the LP, fer sure. Great versions of these tracks!

The songs were recorded live at an earlier date and were played while the band was interviewed. The interview information, especially in the first segment, is very informative about how the early Phoenix punk scene came to be. There is also talk about the Meat Puppets \ Dwight Yoakum connection.

While the DJ’s voice is quite irritation, I do like the style of this program. They actually treat the Meat Puppets, who were at the time still without a ‘hit song’, with some respect. They actually recognize their contribution to Phoenix music scene, which is a bit refreshing.

I tracked the shit outta this too. Ya can listen to just the music, just the interviews, or, if ya really feel like being a masochist, to the seemingly endless number of station ID’s done by the DJ…

I highly recommend this one.

Just a note, the tracks numbers start at track 3! After cutting out a Leon Russell studio LP track and the DJ outro to it…the whole Studio Zone segment is here, minue the couple of seconds lost on a tape flip.

Enjoy, but of course

Don’t Sell It!!
Please don’t disseminate in MP3 Format!
