EKSTASIS (Sacred System)
---------------------------
Fabrik, Hamburg, Germany
22 April 1998

Source: Dime post by '71whit' - thanks for encouraging me to remaster !!
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=146897

...which was also just re-seeded by kinebee, who agreed to my posting this remaster
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=219299

fm > dat > cdr (unknown # of generations) > eac (secure) > flac (level 6 w/sector align)

Changes made (Nero 7)
Applied just a little Noise Print NR, just to take the edge off the noise
Cross-mixed tracks (88:12), instrument dynamics much improved, noise further reduced
Fixed many digi-glitches at the end of tr03
Fixed clicks at 0.02, 0.40-41 tr02
Reduced right channel by 5% to improve stereo balance
Reversed left and right channels of tr04-06 to match mix of the other tracks
Slightly moved track starts to edit out / smooth inter-track glitches

Quality: A++
----------------

Apologies that this great remaster has lain forgotten on HD until kinebee re-seeded, so
here it is now. I've got another great Laswell remaster, just need to find it now, LOL !!

This is a truly awesome recording, both the recording quality and performance, just let
down by a few flaws and capable of further improvement (details above). You can now hear
the crack when Drake (on top rythmic form here) hits the drums and the percussive nature
of Laswell's bass, previously softened by the original recording or editing, so the true
punch and dynamics of this group can now be heard (with the encouragement of OP 71whit)...

...Enjoy

Nicky Skopelitis: guitar
Bill Laswell: bass
Graham Haynes: cornet
Amina Claudine Myers: Hammond b3
Ayib Dieng: percussion
Hamid Drake: drums

(TomP) REMASTER on Dime Oct 2008
Original (71whit) Notes:

I was unable to find any more information on this recording. I did notice that somebody
claimed it is actually not Sacred System but rather Charged, but I thought Charged had
Kondo on trumpet, Bernocchi on guitar, and DJ Disk on turntables, and Myers was not in
the band. So I just left it as Sacred System.

Further comments

(piikea) most of these songs are from Nicky's "solo" album titled Ekstasis so this is
definitely a show from the "Ekstasis" project rather than Sacred System.

(chazuke) TG is not always correct, but in this case the info. TG is more accurate than
the original seed info. The gig had been billed announced as sacred system, and perhaps
it was planned to bring on NPM. What actually happened was Ekstasis. The show was opened
by Kondo Toshinori/DJ Krush: Ki-Oku Live. Anybody have a recording of that?
