comments:
This is the middle bit of my Birdsongs trilogy, and the 1st of 2 masters I made for broadcast on the Glasnost Radio show heard on WCUW Worcester FM radio through the 90's. This was recorded with 2 mikes on stands, on either side of the soundboard. The levels on the master were a little too low, so I boosted them a little bit in a few parts and balanced it out, sounds better now for the 1st time master seed of a very enjoyable BOTM show, probably my favorite of the 3 BOTM shows I've heard in Mass. (seen and recorded 2). The 1st one is a 1st gen. from 1989, maybe made on the same or comparable deck. The third one is a soundboard from 1994, all 3 of these sound very enjoyable and the music is very well played. This is a complete show, tape flipped between songs. I don't think they do Birdsongs of Otis, but lots of very nice music from this band, which is why I'm upping 3 torrents of them (not sure of the sequence for that yet but they will all be up eventually. if not already so) This one includes such chart-toppers as A Band of Debras, Pleasure Island, Serious Misfortune, Dancing on AA (written in Hawaii) and a then-new song by Michael which was really nice stuff, probably my favorite in this show. There is an ID by Rick Scott (I think he's the sax player) for WCUW which I included, since it was broadcasted with it. We broadcasted a recording of their 1989 show at WAG, very similar sort of a recording as this but made by another WCUW personality, as a promotion for this concert, thus the wait until September (and return of college students) for the broadcast of this show. There is some song duplication. I don't know when BOTM started playing but they've been around awhile, and all I've heard of them has sounded quite good, so enjoy, and...
Do not sell this recording.
trade freely and losslessly.
Why sell? when you can
have it for a (bird)song.
