Notes
While the chops of these three master axemen are undeniable, their trademark mixed bag of joke tunes, classical transcriptions and original errata make for a uneven disc this time round. What might play well in a live situation, with the musical in-jokes of "Classical Gas" followed by Beethoven and Bach, then finished off with a rousing take on "Miserlou," here seems a little smug without the onstage banter to ease the burden. In the end, it seems like these extremely talented pickers are just saying, "Aren't we good? Don't you just love it?" Well, it's okay, but ease off, fellas. -- Tim Sheridan (allmusic.com)
