Description:

Nicky Mason Matrix Madness

I think this AUD 3-Source Matrix sounds very well balanced, unlike any of the 3 sources
which each over-emphasize certain frequency ranges.

I like all 3 recordings in their own ways and they are very different from each other.
Each source has its own positive traits that are lacking in the others. So when you
mix and combine them together, you get a very full-bodied and balanced result, that is
IMO much better than any of them alone.

The surround sound effects are really cool - you can actually hear it moving around
and behind the taper(s)!

I removed several minutes of PA music at the beginning and “Jugband Blues” from the end,
to avoid potential conflict. But it’s one complete chunk and would make a nice DVD
soundtrack if there is video available!

-> Re-equalizing: CoolEditPro -> re-equalizing each of the 3 sources
-> Mixing: Mixpad -> mixing the 3 sources together and boosting the “speaking” portions a bit

Pittylabelle's source also had sector alignment to center the image.
The songs were mixed in portions because of a slight drift and then edited back together.
Then, the finished master was re-equalized and limited.
