„FOR RADIO OUT THERE“

**Contrast clause RE my previous (gone since 2013) torrent #288823 from February 2010:**
Since I didn’t have on my PC (let alone knew how to handle, for that matter) Audacity at the time of my first upload over nine years back, I simply uploaded my raw DAT-to-CDR-to-WAV&FLAC version of this recording, warts and all. This new torrent is a somewhat polished version of the same source recording; it comes with:
1. A right channel dropout in „Day Of The Eagle“ repaired (i.e. level raised to match with the general level.
2) All previously rather low levels auto-boosted (i.e. w/out any clipping or brickwalling!)
3) Track marks properly set/adjusted.
4) Oh-so *slight* editing for ironing out crackle peaks, silence etc.

Lineage: KZEW-FM stereo b’cast>my DAT (2nd. gen.>CD-R>CDex>Audacity (for channel droput fix, level auto-boosting, track mark adjustments, slight editing>wav>FLAC(level8>Dime>all Trowerionados out there!

As great as Robin's 1976 "Live" album is, it has always bugged me big time that it comes w/out BRIDGE OF SIGHS and, even worse, no upgraded CD re-issue has remedied that so far. I always thought it would be easy to put the entire show on one CD, especially as there are even outtakes in circulation (albeit in crappy quality). However, I meanwhile learned from a knowledgeable fan who posted on amazon.com a few years back that the band (or Jimmy, for that matter?) were obviously not happy with the original vocals. Hence, he re-did them in the studio for the release, though only on the tracks that had already been selected for the album! So, whatever material is in Chysalis‘ (or Swedish Radio’s) vaults has the subpar live vocals and is being regarded as non-releasable (by Chrysalis and/or Robin). Also, the album could stand a bit of remastering, IMHO, it sounds a wee bit dull (or am I wrong?).

Therefore, I'd like to share again with you this ex sounding show here that not only runs much longer than Robin‘s then usual c. one hour sets but also features Robin's entire tour repertoire, and even comes with the rarely played then new numbers FINE DAY and CONFESSION MIDNIGHT. This show had of course made its rounds before and since I first uploaded it here, but as said above is now an optimised known 2nd gen. copy! It therefore should be at least a slight upgrade to serious Trower collectors. Hummm, can it get much better than this show here when it comes to 1975 Trower? ;-)

BTW, though FOR EARTH BELOW may not be as musically outstanding as its predecessor, it fared almost as well, and even made it to the US top 5 (released: February 1975, chart peak: #5, weeks charted: 17, certified gold: 10/29/76; compare with BRIDGE OF SIGHS: released: March 1974, chart peak: #7, weeks charted: 31, certified gold: 9/10/74).

A treasure chest of great pix and ticket stub scans etc.

Please do NOT even think of selling this show or spreading it in lossy formats - otherwise: trade, share, collect – and enjoy! Always looking forward to your comments and possibly even further info...
