TAMPERE JAZZ HAPPENING : REIJSEGER-FRAANJE-SYLLA TRIO

we first had a shorter version from digital satellite radio (mp2@256kbps, broadcast by Deutschlandfunk Jazzlive), by dimer Lewojazz, as torrent #500780 : this was not including tracks Ana, Amerigo and Down Deep, BUT was strangely including 4 minutes of commentaries by Reijseger, unavailable elsewhere.
Then, another digital satellite radio broadcast (again mp2@256kbps), by SRF2, was torrented by dimer unclewolfi as torrent #501171 , this time including the (whole) set minus the above mentioned commentaries.
My version here comes from a FM broadcast by italian radio, losslessy captured to wav, and it features the same longer set as unclewolfi's, and also includes in the folder as track 00 a short radio introduction in ITALIAN with bio notes and commentaries - this intro runs for 1'29", you can skip downloading it if you don't understand italian.

this comes as a surprise, and it could be equally filed under the banners world, jazz or minimalism as those influences are so well mixed in nice tunes by the piano and cello with the voice and percussions of senegalese Mola Sylla. It could somehow either remind of the musics of Anuar Brahem or Dhafer Youssef, griot mixed with Avishai Cohen's recent Aurora and nice Einaudi-like piano. Most of these tracks are from "Down Deep" album - a second album called "Count Till Zen" has been recently (2015) released

Stasera la musica registrata dal vivo ci porta in Finlandia, nel cuore dell'edizione 2013 del Tampere Jazz Happening, storico appuntamento che ha preso il via nel lontano 1982. Sul prestigioso palco della cittadina finlandese il 3 novembre dello scorso anno si è esibito il Reijseger/Fraanje/Sylla Trio. La formazione è una delle più interessanti proposte capace di attraversare i generi, guidata dal violoncellista olandese Ernst Reijseger insieme al pianista Harmen Fraanje e al cantante senegalese Mola Sylla, che per l'occasione si muove anche tra xalam, kongoma e mbira.
