| Notes/Review |
| As expected, lots of pain and suffering in this book. In these first two volumes, Solzhenitsyn analyzes the arrest, interrogation, and transportation of political prisoners in the USSR. He also gives a nice history of the judicial system and how its procedures and attitudes changed and evolved under the communists (as contrasted to under Tsarist times). |
