DJ spine faded. Several small tears on DJ, price clipped.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Solzhenitsyn weaves a complicated fabric in this one. Forty-seven major characters are listed at the front and there are about as many minor ones. A lot of little vignettes - a man's life story in two pages, a character sketch in three paragraphs, a chapter on Stalin, two on a man's first hours in the Lubyanka. Although not really a plot-driven book I felt there was never a dull moment. |
