------------------------------------------------------
The third of McCullough's Rome books, this one covers the dictatorship of Sulla, the early career of Caesar, and the Spartican uprising. Early on I wasn't terribly impressed, but I enjoyed the second half of the book quite a bit more. I particularly enjoyed the part where Caesar was captured by pirates - "What do you mean you're only asking 20 talents ransom? I'm worth 50!".
I don't know how accurate her history is, but I do enjoy the way she tells the story. |
