A very readable analysis of the 50 violent years 1904 to 1953. Ferguson doesn't break any new ground here, no original research, but he does analyze the events slightly differently than what I've read elsewhere. He treats the wars in these years as part of one giant conflict rather than their individual parts. Ferguson, of course, puts more emphasis on economic factors than other histories I've read of the inter-war years. |
