Notes/Review
This is the second book describing the exploits of Colonel Hubert Zemke. Zemke's Wolfpack took us from his formative days as fighter ace commanding fighter aces. That book ends with Zemke's plane going down over Germany due to bad weather. This book continues his tale, beginning with his capture. Here, he finds himself as Senior Allied Officer at Stalag Luft I in northeast Germany.

The bulk of the book ("bulk" is perhaps ironic, as the entire volume weighs in a 144 pages) covers his time as prisoner of war, the story does not end with liberation and cessation of hostilities. We get an interesting and entertaining chapter covering a short period immediately after the German surrender. Finally, we get a short epilogue chapter that covers his career after World War II.

Zemke's entire story goes into a category I call "You can't make this stuff up." If a movie were made of these two books, it would come across as far-fetched.
